In November 2020 was Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) using their (at that time) largest cranes to hoist heavy beams over the motorway near Sengkang.
The sharp Kobelco SL6000 was installed on the construction site outside of the lanes. To move the superlift counterweight around was the tray positioned on a SPMT. Here is 130 tonnes of superlift counterweight prepared, which is required to pick-up the beam.
After the motorway (TPE) is closed, is the beam directly delivered. This beam is loaded on two six-axle Scheuerle K25 modules and is towed by a Scania R 620. The Kobelco is already hooked on, at the parallel lanes in the other driving direction is the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 setting up.
About 30 minutes later are both cranes hooked on, the lifting will start now! The Kobelco is fitted with a 54 meter long main boom with a 30 meter long superlift boom. The Liebherr has the main boom extended to a 32,7 meter length.
The beam with a mass of 194 tonnes is now hanging in the cranes. The Kobelco picks the beam up at a 28.5 meter radius, the Liebherr at a 15 meter radius.
Then are the cranes slewing the beam above the bearings. The Kobelco has enlarged the radius to 36.5 meters, the Liebherr kept the radius at 15 meters.
The Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 is the largest mobile crane in Bok Seng's fleet. The crane is here fitted with 144 tonnes of counterweight.
Because the lifting radius of the Kobelco as during the lifting enlarged, was also the superlift counterweight increased to 250 tonnes.
A couple of days later was the due again used to lift a heavy beam. Here is the superlift counterweight of 190 tonnes prepared for the lift.
The beam has arrived!
The LTM 1750-9.1 was again used with a 32.7 meter main boom and fitted with 144 tonnes of counterweight. The beam with a mass of 194 tonnes is now picked up on a 32 meter radius by the Kobelco and by the Liebherr on a 15 meter radius.
Within a couple of minutes is the beam from the transport combination lifted and positioned above the bearings.
The Kobelco is positioning the beam on a 22 meter radius, the superlift counterweight is now reduced to 100 tonnes only.
Fast, safe and prosessionally is the beam installed. The LTM 1750-9.1 will be dismantled as fast as possible to open up the motorway before 5 AM for the regular traffic.
