This very interesting Kato KA-1300SL belongs to Tiong Woon from Singapore (SG) and stood parked along the road next to a contruction site. It is a 130-tonne crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier.
The 5-axle carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, a 15.9-litre 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 390 kW (522 hp). The axles 1, 2, 4 and 5 are powered, all axles are steerable. The carrier is fitted with a single-person cabin.
The crane is 14.57 meters long, 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. During the transport over the road are both hooks stored on the deck of the carrier.
The outrigger base measures 8.52 x 8.4 meters. It is also possible to extend the outriggers to a width of 7.4, 6.4, 5.4, 4.4 or 3.4 meters. The crane has for each width a load chart.
The superstructure is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D16-TLE2A, a 7.54-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 140 kW (188 hp). The diesel engine powers in total three hydraulic pumps.
The counterweight has a total mass of 15.8 tonnes and is stored on the carrier during transport over the road.
During crane operation is the 15.8 tonnes of counterweight attached to the superstructure and has a tailswing of 4.1 meters. The crane is fitted with two 8-tonne hoist winches using a 20 mm hoist wire rope. This crane has both hoist winches in operation.
The crane has a six-part main boom with an 11.8 meter base length and extends five times to a maximum length of 52 meters. Optionally is it possible to extend the main boom by a 9.2 - 26.6 meter telescopic jib. The jib can be adjusted in angle between 2 and 60 degrees against the main boom with use of an hydraulic cylinder.
A very special and sharp crane of Tiong Woon!
