Krupp KMK5090 - CJV

This interesting and very sharp Krupp KMK5090 was used by CJV (Challenger Joint Venture) in a gold mine in Australia. Here stood the crane parked in Singapore (SG) and would be exported soon to another country. It is a 90-tonne crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier with year of manufacture 1991.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 442 LA, a 14.6-litre 8-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 320 kW (435 hp). This crane has the optional 10x8x8-drive line, where the axles 2 to 5 are powered. The axles 1 to 3 and 5 are steerable.

The crane is 15.34 meters long, 3.07 meters wide and 3.75 meters tall. The total mass is approx. 75 tonnes in this configuration.

The crane has a four-part main boom with a 12.7 meter base length and a maximum length of 41 meters. The main boom can be extended by a 10 - 16 meter long bi-fold swingaway jib, the jib is mountable in a 0 or 16 degree angle to the main boom. This crane has a runner attached to the main boom for the second hook that is used.

The outrigger base measures 8.15 x 8 meters.

On the deck of the carrier are 11 tonnes of counterweight stored.

On the superstructure is a 2.6-tonne counterweight slab mounted. The full counterweight of the crane weights 14.8 tonnes and has a 4.5 meter tailswing. This crane is fitted with two 6-tonne hoist winches using 19 mm hoist wire rope.

A previous owner of the crane is Crane Services from Adelaide (AU).

Later that day was the crane perfectly positioned in the sun.

Unfortunately is it not known where the crane was exported too.

A very beautiful and special Krupp!
