Hup Hin

This fine Terex AC 250-1 belongs to Hup Hin from Singapore (SG). The crane, just like the Terex AC 160-2, carries the names and colours of Tong Soon Crane, also from Singapore, which company was taken over by Hup Hin. It is a 250-ton crane mounted on a 6-axle carrier.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine with an output of 450 kW (612 hp). This crane has the standard 12x8x10 drive configuration, where axles 2, 4, 5, and 6 are driven, and axles 1 to 3, 5, and 6 are steerable.

In transit, the crane measures 16.97 metres in length, 4 metres in height, and 3 metres in width. In this configuration, the crane weighs approximately 92 tonnes.

The crane is equipped with a seven-section main boom; the base length is 14.5 metres, and the maximum length is 80 metres.

Optionally, the main boom can be extended with a two-piece folding jib of 20 metres. The jib can be hydraulically adjusted to an angle between 0 and 40 degrees relative to the main boom.

The outrigger base measures 8.7 x 8.5 metres, or half 8.7 x 5.54 metres.

The carrier carries a standard counterweight of 15 tonnes. The full counterweight of the crane weighs 96.6 tonnes and has a slewing radius of 5.6 metres.

The crane is equipped with an 11.5-ton hoist winch fitted with a 23 mm hoisting rope.

A very fine crane from Hup Hin!
