Terex AC 500-2

Tiong Woon

This very nice Terex AC 500-2 of Tiong Woon from Singapore (SG) was used on a Sunday to lift building materials onto the roof of a building. It is a 500-ton crane with an 8-axle undercarriage. Both Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 belonging to Moh Seng were previously deployed on the same construction site too.

The undercarriage is powered by an MTU diesel engine with an output of 480 kW (653 hp). The undercarriage has a 16x8x14-drivetrain, with axles 1, 2, 4, and 5 driven. Axles 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 are steerable. The fifth axle can be lifted.

The X-shaped outrigger base measures 9.62 x 9.6 meters, or half an 8 x 8.04 meters.

In transit is the crane is 19.3 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 4 meters high. The total weight of the crane with four outriggers and guying is approximately 113 tons.

Here, the crane was assembled with 100 tons of ballast. The full ballast weighs 180 tons. The turning circle of the ballast is 6.1 meters.

During road transport, the upper carriage cab swings behind the superstructure. During crane operation, this cabin can be tilted up to 20 degrees.

The upper carriage is powered by an MTU diesel engine with an output of 205 kW (279 hp).

Here, the crane was equipped with a luffing jib. The luffing jib has a base length of 24 meters and can be extended in 6-meter increments up to a maximum of 90 meters. The main boom has a base length of 14.7 meters and extends four times to a maximum length of 56 meters.

Here, the main boom was extended to a length of 51.8 meters, and the luffing jib has a length of 60 meters.

Various building materials had to be lifted onto the roof.

A very nice crane of Tiong Woon!
