This sharp Woltman THW A-1000 PDS of GEKA (today: Dimco) from Dordrecht (NL) was in 2009 used on a large pile driving job in Amsterdam (NL). In total it was required to drive around 800 piles into the ground.
This was the first serious job for the piling rig. The base machine has a transport mass of 78 tonnes.
The undercarriage is 5.45 meters wide and 6.67 meters long. For the transport over the road is the width to be reduced to 3.5 meters only. The piling rig is powered by a Caterpillar C-13, a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a power of 354 kW (475 hp).
In the superstructure are in total five winches mounted. Two hoist winches, a winch the move the tool in the leader, a winch to vertically move the leader and a winch to adjust the angle of the main boom.
In the leader is hanging a Delmag D62-22 diesel hammer to drive the piles into the ground. This diesel hammer has a total mass of approx. 12.25 tonnes, the punjer has a mass of 6.2 tonnes. The diesel consuption is about 20 litres per hour.
The piles have a maximum length of 38 meters and are 50 centimeters in square. The piling rig is able to pick the piles with a 23 tonnes mass up with both 15-tonne hoist winches and to bring it in vertical position to bring them under the hammer.
The main boom has a 27 meter length here and the leader has a 44 meter length. The maximum capacity is 37 tonnes.
At the rear of the superstructure are a total of 30 tonnes of counterweight mounted. A very sharp piling rig of GEKA!
