This beautiful Scania 164 G 580 was used by Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) to transport a heavy cargo. The truck is combined here with a 10-axle trailer and is waiting here for escort.
The truck is powered by a Scania DC16, a 16-liter, 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 426 kW (579 hp). This truck has a 6x4-drivetrain, with both rear axles driven.
The muffler and diesel tank are mounted behind the front axle.
Here the truck was used as a ballasted tractor. A frame is placed on top of the fifth wheel, on which a 10.5-ton ballast block is loaded, so that the tractor has sufficient pressure on the rear axles.
Here, a 10-axle Scheuerle K25 trailer was being towed. The load is an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), an electric vehicle that can autonomously move containers in the port. The complete AGV weighs approximately 29 tons.
An additional cooling system for the engine has been installed behind the cab.
A very nice combination from Bok Seng! Today, this truck is still in use at Bok Seng, but registered at a location in Malaysia.
