At the end of January 2021 was Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) performing the last of four very large transports for a new refinery in Singapore (SG). The large column was a few days before by four cranes rotated.
It is about 9:00 PM, the transport is driven outside of the port area and is waiting for the escort.
Here is Bok Seng using in total 48 Scheuerle SPMT axles, which are coupled to a double 24-axle transporter. The transporter is powered by two Scheuerle Z350 DA power packs each with a power of 350 kW.
The cargo is a "rerun bullet" with a total length of 38.5 meters, a width of 6.8 meters and a heigth of 9.1 meters. The total mass of the cargo is about 232.5 tonnes.
Around 10:00 PM does the large transport start to roll, after leaving the port area is the transport about the drive a long stretch forwards.
Because of the divider has the transport to drive close along the roadside, due to the height is it getting close with the lamp post.
It just fits!
The theoretical loading capacity of the transporter is 1,920 tonnes. In this case was mainly chosen for a double transporter for increased stability because the centre of gravity of the cargo is relatively high above the ground.
To avoid the removal of certain traffic signs and ligts is the transport driving against the usual flow of traffic. At junctions is the lane changed.
Road sections are temporary closed by the Cisco Auxilairy Police.
The first sharp turn to the left, from Tuas South Ave 8 to Tuas South Ave 5, is taken.
This transport can take this turn in once.
And for now... full speed forwards! The transport has to drive now 2.6 kilometers, this road doesn't have any obstacles.
The transport now turns into Tuas South Ave 14, the transport will drive now against the normal flow of traffic. The road is now closed by the Auxilairy Police.
At the end of the road has the transport to change lane again, to spare the centre diveder has Bok Seng prepared a small slope in the meantime.
Each axle is individually steerable and 700 mm in height adjustable.
While the centre divider is crossed a lamp post has to be avoided as well!
After the lane change is the transport crossing the junction diagonally again to avoid traffic signs.
And then a sharp turn from Tuas South Ave 14 into Tuas South Ave 9 is taken.
This time will the transport drive 'rear wards', with the operator in the driving direction.
It just fits! An impressive piece of preparation, engineering and skills by Bok Seng are shown here!
The next junction is crossed diagonally again, the transport will drive against the normal flow of traffic again.
Then the transport has to cross the road diagonall again, this action is required to get aligned properly to enter Tuas South Ave 12.
The centre devider was partially removed.
On the other side was a small slope prepared to cross the remaining piece of the centre devider.
The transport now turns slowly into Tuas South Ave 12, the construction site is almost reached.
The last sharp turn is required to enter the construction site. The transport has reached its destination!
In about 2 hours has the transport taken five sharp turns and has driven 8.2 kilometers. A very sharp transport, that was performed very professional, quick and safe by the professionals of Bok Seng!
